This project, led by Center co-director Matt Powers and Sandra Vera-Zambrano (Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City), asks how and why individuals enter into and navigate journalism careers in Mexico and Turkey. In both countries, journalists face significant risks for simply doing their work. This research explores the career trajectories, professional ideals, and perceptions of change in the profession over time amidst prize-winning and prestigious journalists in both countries.
